Grammy Award-winning ensemble Third Coast Percussion presents works by French composer Philippe Manoury on this release. The centrepiece is the six-part Le livre des claviers (The Book of Keyboards), a work which explores sound through the use of marimba, vibraphone, Thai gongs, and the unusual sixxen, a metallophone for six players invented by composer Iannis Xenakis. Complimenting this is the hypnotic Métal, expertly performed by the members of Third Coast.
