Clarinet and marimba duo Transient Canvas—comprised of Amy Advocat and Matt Sharrock—present their debut release, Sift. Innovators in contemporary music, the duo have commissioned numerous new works for their unique combination of instruments, several of which are presented on the present album. Combining commissions from composers Daniel T. Lewis, Tina Tallon, Curtis Hughes, John Murphree, and Adam Roberts, this is an engaging exploration of timbre and the musically possibilities made real by these two instruments when performed by such consummate artists as Advocat and Sharrock.
