“The Music of… Larry Polansky is a marvelous combination of the mathematical and the expressive. The blend is so seamless, in fact, that it serves to point out the absurdity of regarding those two strains as opposite or even especially different.”
- Joshua Kosman, SFGate
freeHorn presents a collection of three chamber works by prolific American composer, performer, and pedagogue Larry Polansky. The title work and ii-v-i are both inspired by the idea of constant movement between different harmonic series, doing so with different instrumental combinations, while minmaj is Polansky's arrangement or “translation” of Carl Ruggles’s piece Angels for electric guitar duo.
