Secret History sees renowned tenor John Potter (formerly of the Hilliard Ensemble) join forces with fellow vocalist Anna Maria Friman, vihuela players Ariel Abramovich, Jacob Heringman, and Lee Santana, and viola da gamba player Hille Perl for a unique project which sees sacred music by Renaissance composers Josquin Desprez, Tomas Luis de Victoria, and others performed in arrangement for two voices and instrumental accompaniment. Recorded at St Gerold Monastery in Austria, this release unites masses and motets by two composers whose works have long been treasured by lutenists, performed by a group of consummate artists.
