It is the warm atmosphere, the good melodies and electric guitar butter that is at the centre when you experience the group Las Palmeras. And on their self-titled debut, it is precisely the atmosphere that is paramount.
The starting point is a common predilection for the exotic music of the 50s and 60s - exotica, mambo, Cuban, film noir, surf and Hawaiian music. With a good mix of original material, as well as hand-picked more or less obscure old gemstones, thoughts are almost automatically directed to a cinematic universe, and make the inner images roll.
