This is minor Mozart, done supremely well.” - Richard Lawrence, Gramophone Ian Page and his London-based ensemble Classical Opera present Mozart's rarely heard “one-act dramatic serenade” Il Sogno Di Scipione. Written by the teenage Mozart in 1772, the serenade tells of a dream had by the Roman general Scipio Africanus the Younger—recorded by Cicero and retold by Metastasio—and set with charm by the young composer. This performance features soloists Chiara Skerath, Soraya Mafi, Robert Murray, Stuart Jackson, Krystian Adam, and Klara Ek.
