This is the first release in a landmark series form the Wiener Symphoniker and conductor Philippe Jordan, marking the beginning of the storied orchestra's first full cycle of Beethoven's symphonies. Recorded live at Vienna's Musikverein in 2017, Jordan leads the orchestra in top-notch performances of the Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21 and the beloved “Eroica” Symphony which take cues from historically informed performance practice.
