For an artist, the title of an album takes a lot of thought and encompasses the full collection of songs. For Tyler Hubbard, he thought about different song titles that would make sense, but it wasn’t until he saw a documentary on Shania Twain that he came up with the perfect title for his debut solo album — Tyler Hubbard.
“So for my debut solo album, I went around and around trying to figure out what to call it. I thought ‘Small Town Me.’ I thought about ‘Me For Me.” I thought about a lot of the song titles, and then it hit me. I was watching a Netflix documentary about Shania Twain, and her debut album was self-titled and I thought, ‘You know what? What better way to connect the name with the face with the story and with the songs then a self-titled album.’ So, I decided you know what? That’s what I’m gonna do – debut solo album, we’re gonna call it Tyler Hubbard, and it’s gonna be my story to connect with the fans on a personal, individual level.”
