Composer-pianists Julian Jacobson and Mariko Brown formed their four-hand piano duo in 2011 with a commitment to search out neglected masterpieces. This release is no exception, with the pair performing Debussy's astounding Egyptian-themed Khamma ballet, recording for the first time in the version for four hands. This fascinating piece is paired alongside many intricate and dense works, including the irreverent Trois morceau en forme de Poire by Erik Satie and British composer Anthony Herschel Hill's beautifully intense Nocturne for two pianos.
