This album showscases Springfield's more introspective musical side which contrasts with his previous 1980s pop rock legacy. His new sound can be heard in tracks such as Little Demon, The Voodoo House, and Blues for the Disillusioned.
And with the shape of humanity’s struggle against this amazing planet, I wanted the album to be more lyric driven, so, for better or for worse, it produced The Snake King.
