Czech composer and keyboard virtuoso Leopold Koželuch was one of many 19th century musicians who attempted to rise through the musical ranks of Vienna, Austria, and has unjustly been forgotten from history. Pianist Kemp English presents this eleventh instalment in an ambitious recording of Koželuch's complete keyboard sonatas in an attempt to preserve the composer's legacy. His deft interpretations bring a new contemporary focus on these charming, elegant keyboard pieces.
