Originally released in 2005, this collection showcases the stunning vocals of soprano Sandrine Piau accompanied by conductor Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques. But this is far more than just a recital by a prima donna: it is a perfectly balanced dialogue between Piau and Rousset. Their rapport blossomed over time through their collaborations on the operatic works of Handel going back as far as 1994 . Their complicity reveals the deep humanity of Handel’s heroines behind the masks.
