Digital Booklet
The 40th Volume of the documented Edition Ruhr Piano Festival features several top pianists in fine form: Eva Gevorgyan (scholarship holder of the Ruhr Piano Festival 2020) plays the 24 Préludes op. 11 by Alexander Scriabin. Roman Borisov introduces himself with a selection of the Préludes op. 23 and the Corelli Variations by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Pallavi Mahidhara performs Clara Schumann's Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann, Op. 20 and Johannes Brahms ' Handel Variations, Op. 24 , as well as works by Rachmaninoff and Lyadov. Kit Armstrong, Andrej Bielow and Adrian Brendel are heard in the world premiere of Armstrong's new piano trio 'almost too serious', his homage to Alfred Brendel on his 90th birthday. The festival debut of the Chinese jazz pianist A Bu , our 2019 scholarship recipient, is documented on disc 3.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
