This world premiere recording presents two important and deeply personal works by contemporary Danish composer Anders Nordentoft: the stirring cello concerto Light Imprisoned and the solo piece Cathedral, both dedicated to and performed by cellist Henrik Brendstrup. The programme also contains selected Nordentoft chamber music, beautiful and harmonious, yet at the same time typified by great contrasts, suppressed pain and restless energy.
