"Mexican composer Felipe Pérez Santiago experiments with the intimate relationship between composer, performer, and audiences in his second album Formika. He composes for chamber music ensembles and provides a creative insight to notational layering, texture, and shifting tonality. Santiago's creativity can be heard throughout the album, but specifically in his Hospital Suite.
"I entered CIEM [Center for Research and Music Studies] in the year 1992 and I was not clear on where I wanted to direct my musical career, what I did know was that I wanted to be a professional musician for my entire life."
