Hauterive. This name carries with it the birthplace of Mara Tremblay and all the authenticity that the new duo of friends and musicians, completed by Catherine Durand, wishes to place at the heart of its repertoire. Accomplished singer-songwriters Catherine and Mara have shared a passion for folk music for over twenty years in their respective solo careers. By dint of rubbing shoulders closely on stage and in their personal lives, the idea of ​​forming a duo came very instinctively and naturally, with the sole purpose of playing together for fun. This artistic confluence gave birth to seven original songs and two very personal covers, with slightly more country accents. These first nine titles of the artist duo quickly took the form of an album, with the participation in the studio of respected musicians on the Montreal roots scene; Joe Grass (pedal steel, acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin), Marie-Anne Arsenault (bass) and Victor Tremblay-Desrosiers (drums, percussion), and will be unveiled to the general public in 2023. The album of the brand new duo Hauterive will be translated on stage by an acoustic formula of the most intimate; the two multi-instrumentalists sharing the roles of accompanist and interpreter.
