This performance of one of the most emblematic music works ever composed marks the debut recording from Insula Orchestra, a period instrument ensemble co-founded by conductor Laurence Equilbey. The impressive soloists on this 2014 album, including Sandrine Piau, Sara Mingardo, Werner Güra and Christopher Purves, alongside the European choir Accentus all offer an intense and stylish performance of one of the truly major works of the religious music repertoire, Mozart’s Requiem, composed in his final year and unfinished.
