Best known for his massive choral compositions and song cycles, composer David Lang pushes out of his normal idiom and composed four pieces for four different ensembles on David Lang: Writing On Water. In these compositions, Lang plays with the tension between dissonance and consonance and creates a soundscape reminiscent of the sounds of the ocean.
