This is the second release from drummer Harris Eisenstadt’s quintet Canada Day, given its name for playing its first gig on Canada Day in 2007. A true drummer’s album, it features buoyant, dancing rhythms; bass and drums interact with each other and with the vibes and front line from tune to tune, the individual voices pulling against each other cohere all the more.
