Digital Booklet
"The contrasting timbres of the two instruments are beautifully suited to the delicate interplay of the two parts in each duet ... the Baroque music connoisseur looking for refined and expertly crafted performances of neglected musical gems will find this recording an unalloyed delight." - International Record Review In a collaborative research project with the Early Music Studio at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Baroque flutist Greg Dikmans and violinist Lucinda Moon from Australian early music group the Elysium Ensemble present the Sei Duetti by Johann Joachim Quantz. These six duets for treble instruments are historically significant and engaging works that display high levels of craftsmanship while providing excellent examples of Quantz's intermediate position as a composer between the Baroque and Classical eras. This is the first in a series of recordings as part of the Ensemble's Historical Performance Research Project.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
