What The Hell Happened To Blood, Sweat & Tears? is the new documentary produced and directed by acclaimed music documentarian John Scheinfeld (The U.S. vs. John Lennon, Who Is Harry Nilsson [And Why Is Everybody Talkin’ About Him?], Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary). The film is a political thriller with a classic rock band at the heart of the action following Blood, Sweat & Tears’ ill-advised 1970 tour of Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland, a tour sponsored by the U.S. State Department. The film includes 53 minutes of never-before-seen footage that was previously thought to be lost of the biggest band in America’s controversial journey across Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland. BS&T were clearly at the top of their game in 1970, as their second eponymously titled album hit number one for 7 weeks, sold over 4 million copies in the U.S. and yielded three Top 5 singles…they even won a Grammy® for Album of the Year over The Beatles’ Abbey Road. Omnivore Recordings is delighted to release a companion piece to What The Hell Happened To Blood, Sweat & Tears? – Original Soundtrack, with the digital only release of What The Hell Happened To Blood, Sweat & Tears? – Original Score composed by founding member Bobby Colomby and arranger/composer/musician David Mann. What makes this release incredibly unique is the original score is not only co-written by original member Colomby but performed by the current 2023 lineup of Blood, Sweat & Tears, bringing the musical vibe right up to date. "Director John Scheinfeld asked me to write an original score for the non-performance portions of the film. I passed, telling him that I don’t physically notate (write) music. But he was relentless, pressing me again and again, saying ‘who better to do the score than a founding member and leader of BS&T?'" - Bobby Colomby (Drums)

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
