Ghost Secrets is the debut by Dareyn, the project helmed by kemenche player and composer Emine Bostanci. She and the cellist Maya Fridman are the heart of Dareyn, known for their refined and intuitive use of their instruments. They collaborate with different artists for each project to explore new musical possibilities. For Ghost Secrets, their debut album, they invited jazz/world percussionist Vinsent Planjer and jazz pianist Franz von Chossy to form the quartet Dareyn Q.7*, focusing on the theme of the seven heavens – a concept that transcends diverse beliefs, cultures and nations. People all over the world came up with a similar concept: seven levels to get to ‘enlightment'. Exploring what binds and divides these cultures and religions inspired 8 compositions that explore ancient narratives within a unique combination of instruments. Especially noticeable is the uncommon sound of the Istanbul kemenche, a rare Turkish instrument, of which Emine is the only professional player in Europe. Secondly, Emine and Maya use their voices to layer even more harmonies within the patterns of sound.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
