Following the multiple successes of Yaniv d’Or & Ensemble NAYA’s first album Liquefacta Est (one of Gramophone Magazine top ten recordings of 2013) and their highly-acclaimed second Album Latino-Ladino (Best Album of 2016, BBC Magazine), the Ensemble is now preparing their next recording: Exaltation.
Exaltation is an exciting new project in which mesmerising voices and instruments explore the distinct musical traditions of the three monotheistic religions. It will bring together these distantly-related musical legacies in an entirely original way.
The charm and expressive qualities of duduk, ney, viola da gamba and didgeridoo converse with the silky countertenor of Yaniv d’Or, against an evocative backdrop of theorbo, percussion, baroque guitar, amenco guitar and vihuela, creating an enchanting experience for music lovers of all genres.
The recording took place in Franc Warret, Belgium with internationally renowned sound engineer Manuel Mohino.
This exciting project, which brings together international brilliant musicians of all backgrounds and traditions, was designed to create a cultural bridge over which people of all faiths and religions can cross. We fully believe that, in this turmoiled world, trust can be built between people through the power of voices and instruments.
