The art of the duo has a long history, not least in jazz. The musical dialogue between two musicians promises mutual attention and playful understanding, many nuances and high intensity. Kerstin Haberecht and Lukas Roos offer a lot of all of this. On their first album together, Maiden Flight, the two inspire with melodic and reservedly abstract passages, atmospheric depth and lightness, rhythmic sophistication and subtle interactions. What surprises most, however, is their variety of sounds. On the one hand, that of their instruments, i.e. Haberecht's predominantly warm-timbered, eloquent alto saxophone and Roos' variable electric guitar, which oscillates between elegant and flowing jazz playing styles and modern, sometimes rocky sounds. The unusual sound language of the Duo Voltige is also based on the clever use of two loop stations. Their pointed, partly pre-produced, partly live-recorded phrases, motifs, patterns and shapes enrich and condense the atmospheric music. The clever diversity of the studio album Maiden Flight can also be performed live. Emotional compositions, impressive arrangements and the confident playing of Haberecht and Roos give the Duo Voltige its individually engaging expressiveness.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
