Digital Booklet
The two composers represented on this release, Gabriel Fauré and Victor Herbert, are linked by a rather melancholy fact: neither had an untroubled childhood and both died in 1924. With this recording, one forgotten work by each composer is now being released on record for the first time. The “Symphonie en Fa Op. 20” by Fauré in its complete version (with the Andante arranged by Paul K. Haug) and the “F major Suite Op. 3 for cello and orchestra” by Victor Herbert, which was composed in 1882 and first published as sheet music in Stuttgart in 1884, have been recorded here in a new edition by Paul K. Haug.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
