Chicago was awash in independent record labels during the late 50's and early 60's, all hoping to challenge Chess and Vee-Jay. Profile Records landed a national hit with Junior Wells' 'Little By Little'. The label debuted in 1958 with pop crooner Johnny Doray`s 'One Of These Days' and closed its doors three years later with Hayden Thompsons's rockabilly hit 'Whatcha Gonna Do.'
