This is Sam Cooke's first live album, recorded at the Copacabana in New York City over two nights in July 1964 and released later that year, mere weeks before his death. This album features a relaxed, intimate performance that blends some of Cooke's own signature tunes with folk standards. Cooke's superb band, which includes Bobby Womack on guitar, is backed by Joe Mele’s Copacabana house band here, essentially one large horn section.
