This album was conceived as a sort of New World nocturne co-written by six composers, an exquisite corpse that shines an intimate light on American a capella choral music from 1921 to 2002. An eclectic panorama of musical currents and aesthetics are represented: from the avant-garde Feldman to the now classically established Copland and Barber, and through contemporary composers Lauridsen, Whitacre and Stucky. This curated assembly is an opportunity to dive into nearly a century of music!
