A fascinating journey of discovery, this album features Mixtura performing an exciting balancing act between the centuries: the rarely recorded or played Prophetiae Sibyllarum of Orlando di Lasso are contrasted with commissioned compositions by Karin Haußmann, Annette Schlünz and Babette Koblenz which reflect, supplement, contradict and continue early music. The two musicians of Mixtura, Katharina Bäuml on shawms, a double reed instrument of the Middle Ages and Renaissance and Margit Kern on accordion, are joined here by special guest vocalist, alto Kai Wessel.
