On Anyone With a Heart, pianist Iiro Rantala shows himself to be a great neoromantic beyond all stylistic limitations. He says it's simply about his melodies, all conceived for the classical form of the piano trio: piano, violin and cello. It's a form that is unique in jazz and not easy to find. Rantala is joined in the trio by the consummately versatile Adam Baldych on violin and Asja Valcic on cello, who also has her background in classical music. Rantala composed all the numbers himself, except his homage to the Great American Songbook, Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
