Paul McCartney's 1989 release Flowers In The Dirt represents the culmination of 18 months of work involving a vast range of collaborators, from a very prominent Elvis Costello to Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and producers from Trevor Horn to David Foster. The effort paid off: hailed as a comeback, the album peaked at number one in the UK, spawned three top 40 singles and earned a Grammy Award nomination. The original tracks were remastered at Abbey Road Studios for this reissue, which was personally supervised by McCartney himself.
The Deluxe Edition contains 18 bonus audio tracks, featuring previously unreleased demos, written and performed by Paul with Elvis Costello.
"The demos are red hot off the skillet and that’s why we wanted to include them ... I hadn’t listened to them in ages but when I did I knew we had to put them out. We made a little tape of them and sent them to Elvis, who loved them too. We said we should put out an EP or something and now the moment’s finally arrived."
