Spanish saxophonist Pedro Iturralde, under the influence of Miles Davis's classic jazz flamenco fusion album Sketches of Spain, incorporated flamenco melodies in his repertoire as he toured Europe in the 1960s. Iturralde brought along a 19 year old flamenco musician named Paco de Lucía, who would become an international star as one of the greatest flamenco musicians of our time and would remain active in jazz until his death in 2014.
