Giorgio Antoniotto was an 18th-century Italian theorist and composer who spent time in the metropolitan centres of London and Amsterdam, where this set of sonatas for cello and continuo were published. These are the only known surviving works by Antoniotto and are performed on this release by cellist Claire Lamquet, accompanied by members of her early music group, Ensemble Hemiolia.
