"Coltrane's most celebrated work and rightly so."
- The Village Voice
"It reaches a depth of emotional power rarely sounded in jazz."
- All About Jazz
"His playing soars with nothing but gratitude and joy. You can't help but go with him."
- Rolling Stone
Generally considered to be John Coltrane's best work, both for the originality of the music as well as the performance, A Love Supreme combines elements of hard bop with the emerging free jazz sensibilities. Coltrane is backed by an all-star band made up of Jimmy Garrison on bass, Elvin Jones on drums and McCoy Tyner at the piano. Rolling Stone ranked A Love Supreme at number 47 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
