Digital Booklet
During the Second World War, Prokofiev composed a new ballet, Cinderella, based on the fairytale by Charles Perrault. Shortly afterwards he made three piano suites consisting of arrangements of pieces from the ballet. The piano writing is often virtuosic, full of irony and lyricism at the same time. Wilhem Latchoumia has chosen to order the pieces in the sequence of the ballet in order to respect its narrative continuity. This had not been done until now. Moreover, with his passion for rare repertory and the most varied contemporary aesthetics, the pianist has integrated four pieces by the American composer Henry Dixon Cowell into Prokofiev's ballet. These compositions, written between 1912 and 1930, used new modes of writing and playing for the time, such as playing directly on the instrument's strings. The four pieces separate the key episodes of the ballet, offering each listener's imagination new sonic horizons.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
