Four-tine Academy Award nominee and veteran soundtrack composer Danny Elfman delivers this dark yet romantic score for the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the bestselling novel. The film's director Sam Taylor-Johnson says her choice of composer and music was essential to the mood and atmosphere of the film:
“It’s not something I’m just tacking on at the end. The score and the song choices are as important as scenes and how they’re emotionally played. It’s like in real life: you’re sitting, drinking a cup of tea and whatever plays on the radio in that moment can take you to a different place. Music is so fundamentally important to me and to this film."
