"The general sense behind Trust in the Lifeforce is one of hope above all. The Comet Is Coming’s ideas about death and renewal, destruction and rebuilding are, if anything, a positive read on where we are now. It’s not just an acknowledgement of the need to move past the present—of outdated ideas of music and art, of a society that doesn’t work, of fascism—into a new reality. We might not necessarily know what that looks like or how much work it’ll take to get there, but it sounds utterly amazing." - Treble Magazine As the second decade of the 21st century grinds towards its conclusion, it would be too easy to claim that on their second album Trust In The Life Force Of The Deep Mystery, the Mercury Music Prize-shortlisted futurist jazz voyagers The Comet Is Coming are making music for these crisis times of chaos and mass meltdown. After all, when hasn’t this been the case? No. Instead theirs is a broader musical vision that pans out to see the bigger picture and reminds us we humans are but molecules collected into matter. In such moments of epiphany hope is to be found. Hope of mining deeper truths. Art is their medium and the message is in the music. Asked to describe their second album the trio collectively offer a litany of adjectives: epic, ego-dissolving, euphoric, empowering, liberation, compassionate, nurturing, optimistic, nuanced, emboldening, nourishing, joyous, exciting…and transcendent. “Rather than begin a reaction, it’s a celebration,” concludes Shabaka. “It’s an acknowledgment, in the midst of all the darkness we see, of those who trust in the power of imagination.” It would be hard to disagree. Because now The Comet Is Coming are going further, wider, deeper…more, more, more. They are here to destroy artifice and illusion. To illuminate the now and beam a light of truth into the shadowy corners of all mankind. Let go of all that you thought and surrender to their truth.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
