The album Rio da Lua include unreleased tracks and lyrics by violinist Nelson Angelo. The third collaboration between them, the album was recorded in the city of Belo Horizonte (MG) and co-produced by Lô in a partnership with Henrique Matheus.
For the new album, Lô preferred a dynamic and modern method of composition. In this way, the new music began to be conceived via WhatsApp, with the artist receiving Angelo's lyrics and transcribing them to paper before creating the melody.
