"Four Stars ... the combination of vitality and lyricism from Stott and the Hermitage Trio ultimately makes their versions of these chamber masterpieces more compelling, while the exquisite account by Stott of the fourth Nocturne is the icing on the cake.
- BBC Music Magazine

British pianist Kathryn Stott has earned an international reputation for her performances of Fauré’s piano music: in a review of an earlier recording, BBC Music Magazine called her "one of the finest Fauré interpreters of her generation." She has long wanted to record both of Fauré’s hauntingly beautiful piano quartets but was looking for the right ensemble. She has found that in the form of the Hermitage String Trio, a group she has toured with on a number of occasions. Steeped in the renowned Russian tradition of string playing, the members of this European-based Russian trio share a love of chamber music that shines through in their programmes. The two quartets are presented here with the solo piano work, Nocturne No. 4; a unique combination featuring fresh interpretations.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
