Norwegian singer-songwriter Randi Tytingvåg has roots in jazz but is known for a hybrid sound combining elements of jazz and pop, delivered with her unique voice. On this album, she draws on a range of musical styles including jazz, pop, folk and country as she interprets classic covers (Que Sera, Sera, What a Wonderful World, Both Sides Now) and several of her own original compositions.
"There is always a story to every one of my songs, something I have experienced and that really moved me. I call it the 'emotional trigger' that prompted me to make something of it. Then I try to carve out something extremely personal, without getting private: there’s an important difference there."
