"... a cornucopia of delights cordially recommended."
- Gramophone

"Rota presents his interpreters challenges of sudden changes of mood, harmonic twists and rhythms all of which are surmounted with enthusiastic dexterity by Barry Douglas and the orchestra ... quirkily entertaining, here is Rota the clown on display with effervescent lampooning music."
- MusicWeb International

Gianandrea Noseda leads the Filarmonica '900 del Teatro Regio Turino on this programme devoted to Nino Rota, featuring pianist Barry Douglas on the opening work Concerto soirée. Composed in the late 1950s, Rota's Symphony No. 3 is generally less serious in content than his two preceding symphonies and was written in a lighter and essentially Neoclassical style. The album also includes Rota’s Divertimento, on which double bassist Davide Botto offers a reminder of his instrument’s extraordinarily wide range, covering nearly four octaves.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
