Digital Booklet
This debut album from Sri Lankan concert pianist and composer Tanya Ekanayaka contains world premiere recordings of her deeply autobiographical solo piano compositions, or reinventions, which introduce a novel and hybrid musical genre. She takes a wide variety of ancient, folk and popular Sri Lankan melodies and blends them with motifs inspired by the tonal centres of established classical compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Ravel and others. "My music is my diary, through which I share and relive specific moments of my life. The works evolved spontaneously between 2010 and 2014 while I was at the piano. While deeply autobiographical, each work also presents a blend of two musical domains ... each work may also be seen as representing my indigenous culture while seeking to highlight connectivity between the different works of a concert programme ..." - Tanya Ekanayaka

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
