It is no everyday occurrence when a cello and a flute join to form a duo, but after hearing the cello singing and the flute floating above it on this recording, the question arises as to why more musicians have not had this idea. Flutist Atsuko Koga and cellist Ithay Khen are "in dialogue" on this programme of well known music presented in a new guise, as in Mozart's Duo, where the breath of the two musicians flows so naturally and the music is so completely the centre of attention. Above all, the programme offers new things to discover, such as Villa-Lobos's wonderful Duos and Gaspar Cassadó's and Pierre Ferroud's pieces for cello or flute.
