The world premiere recording of Halfdan Cleve`s chamber works on CD performed by Fragarla Vesca (Wild Strawberries). Tor Johan Boen has brought the almost forgotten works of Cleve into the light, making his music available for a wider audience.
During his lifetime, Cleve was not only a very successful composer, but he was also considered one of the greatest pianists in the Nordic region. Cleve chose to write in a late romantic style throughout his life, but he was also inspired by the new and different directions musical composition was taking at the time. Halfdan Cleve´s music had been neglected for almost 70 years. Several of his compositions only existed as manuscripts and minimal research into his life and his musical activities had been undertaken. Tor Johan Boen has taken on the task to bring "the forgotten" composer into the light again and make one of Norway`s most important composer's music available for a wider audience.
