Digital Booklet
"... a spaciously beautiful electric sound (at times, resembles a Bill Frisell album) ... the group’s closeness unmistakable. Bro is a texture player, often restricting himself to warm, slow-moving chords and gleaming harmonics ... Morgan is often the busiest presence, pressing quick, high register countermelodies against echoey shimmers and soft mallet patterns ..." - The Guardian Gefion, named for the Norse goddess associated with ploughing, prophecy and premonition, is the debut ECM release from Danish guitarist Jakob Bro as leader after sessions for the label with Paul Motian and Tomasz Stanko. Bro's feeling for melody, sound colour and atmosphere serves him well on this thoughtful and poetic album; his free floating ballads and drifting, spacious-yet-focused pieces emphasize the flow and delicate melodic tracery of his electric guitar.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
