In Il mio momento, Italian pianist Fabio Monaco draws upon a wealth of traditions to create memorable, melodic jazz, from the Italian bel canto tradition with its flair for melody, through a range of classical and film-music influences, to jazz styles embracing swing, bebop, modal writing and improvisation.
The piano is at the heart of Il mio momento, its diversity of timbres and colours embracing this fusion of different musical styles and unifying them in the process. Fabio Monaco is joined on this album by a hugely talented ensemble performing guitars, fretless bass, flute, violin, tenor sax, bandoneon and flugelhorn - a distinctive combination which creates a unique soundworld.
