On this legacy recording, committed to tape in 1976, the classical guitarist Betho Davezac builds a program of Theme and Variations from some of the world's greatest composers for guitar, both old world and new. Classical guitarist Becho Davezac was born in Rocha, Uruguay in August 1938. He began playing the guitar at the age of six, learning from his father (himself a conservatory professor). Davezac progressed quickly and began learning theory from the composer Guido Santórsola. The budding guitarist then became a very active member of Uruguay's music scene, founding the award-winning "Grupo Artemus." Soon after he left for Paris and established himself as a promising virtuoso of the classical guitar, achieving several awards (1969 Citta di Alessandria Competition; 1967 Ville de Liège Competition) and launching many successful projects. Now a French citizen, Davezac continues to perform and give masterclasses worldwide.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
