"... consists of some yet unheard Jobim's compositions, as well as nice improvisation on various Jobim themes ..." - Bossa Nova Guitar "... similar terrain to Wave, though possibly more substantial, with brighter production." - Slipcue.com "... his compositions, which combine classical impressionism with advanced jazz harmonies and Brazilian rhythms, have become much-loved standards of the jazz repertoire." - Jazz.com Bossa nova pioneer Antonio Carlos Jobim's 1970 release Tide was released as a sequel to 1967's Wave and continues in the same musical direction: a mostly instrumental, jazz/easy listening/bossa nova hybrid but arranged this time by Brazilian Eumir Deodato who brings a jazzier energy to the mix. The album includes an instrumental reworking of Jobim's legendary track The Girl From Ipanema.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
