"Delangle is a superlative musician ... his enthusiasm and versatility are completely obvious ... the stars, however, are the members of the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, who create sounds that are mysterious, biting, intoxicating and darned close to delirious. As usual, BIS’s engineering adds to the fun. Don’t deny yourself the pleasure of Harmonious Breath. It is like a Chinese New Year celebration in San Francisco’s Chinatown, firecrackers and all!" - Fanfare French saxophonist Claude Delangle recorded this unique collection in Taiwan with the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, an ensemble of some 50 musicians, playing traditional Chinese instruments. The programme includes two saxophone concertos by prominent Taiwanese composer Yiu-Kwong Chung, as well as Open Secret, a work written for Delangle and the orchestra by young composer Leilei Tian. In addition to these original compositions, there are also arrangements of two traditional Chinese pieces, which Delangle says formed a musical entryway for him "into the great tradition of Chinese music."

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
