"Vincent Bélanger put his faith in the development of this record. Now it's up to the public to recognize the merits."
- André Gagnon
This debut album from French-Canadian cellist Vincent Bélanger, recorded in various churches in the Montréal area, includes Bélanger's interpretations of works by Ennio Morricone, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Camille Saint-Saëns along with original compositions and cello orchestrations of works by Canadian composer André Gagnon. Bélanger performs some pieces solo; on other tracks he is simply accompanied by piano, organ, harp or voice. Bélanger, from a family of four generations of musicians, is joined here by his father Guy and brother Antoine, both tenors.
